Relation between bar association and advocates

please clear what is relation between bar association and advocates. as no one can practice without registering in bar association can we say bar association ndirect/direct employer.

It is not employer, as no salary is paid. nor advocate is servant or employee of any one.
It is a recognized body sole Association governing the conduct of Advocate, with power to add, or remove adv membership , incl suspension of legal service.

To practice you have to enroll with state Bar Council and not with Bar association.

Agree with Mr. Nanda. Enrollment with bar association is not compulsory.

It is a professional body established to govern the professional conduct of the lawyers.

Agreed with Mr Nanda, to practice one is required to register himself as an Advocate with the Bar Council of the State in which he/she wants to practice. Bar Associations are formed at all level of courts and its membership is not mandatory to allow an Advocate to practice.
