Residential flat on rent

Hi,

Can a person rent residential flat to the the same person for more than 5 years.. having proper rent agreement for each year.

With due respect to the experts:

According to the Maharashtra Rent Act 1999:

The residential flat can be given on rent only if it is owned by the person himself. A tenanted flat can not be given on rent by the tenant.

If the flat is given on monthly rental basis, the tenancy agreement has to be registered and this is a one time registration.

However, if the flat is given on Leave & License basis, then the Leave & License document has to be registered every eleven months. There is no time bar for the number of years a Leave & License document can be registered.

Again, if the flat is given on lease, a lease document for a fixed period has to be registered.
