Right of the tenant when the land lord selling the house

(Querist) 10 June 2013 This query is : Resolved
I have been living in a rented house for the past 20 years under an oral agreement. I am willing to buy the House for the present market value, but the owner is trying to sell the house to third parties for higher price. What is the remedy left to me under AP Laws

Your position as a tenant will not change and you will automatically become a tenant under the new landlord until you are asked to vacate legally. But you say since you didnt have an agreement with the present landlord, you may enter into agreement with the new landlord for your safety.

What Gurunarayana rao said is right. Present or new owner may ask to vacate the premises. It's depends upon their understandings.

In all such cases new landlords will expect the tenant to vacate.

Get a good advocate dealing in such matters and you can get relief from courts so that you are not evicted where agreement is there or not.
