Time limit to secure purchased land in 'khasra khatoni' after registry

Kindly advice, is there any time limit laid by legal laws to update the data of purchased land in 'Khasra Khatoni'. Registry has already been done when Purchase was made in Dec'2012 but yet the Khasra Khatoni has not been made/updated from Tehsil - Uttarkhand.
Hope this delay by 'Tehsil' in updating the Khatoni will not invite any legal issues to this land. Pls confirm.

The purchaser should make application for mutation with copy of registered sale deed. If any delay by the Thahsil will not affect the sale transaction. Make appropriate reminders to the concerned authorities.
