Unclaim Vehicle

I like to know under what section does police can booked a unclaimed vehicle as i someone told me that they just don't book the vehicle under any section is the true or not

Traffic Police have the power to do so.

As there is no claimaint so the police on suspicion book the vehicle that it might be a stolen property
