498 fir threat what to do

me & wife are living separately from 6 months. i have filed a divorce case 2 months back. now her family threatens to lodge a 498A FIR against me and family. What will be the procedure now? What should I do?

I have told by someone that I can post a letter regarding my situation and these threats to the DM & SSP of my city as well as her city....will this help?

YES IT WILL HELP TO DEFEAT THE APPREHENDED ALLEGATIONS.

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     11 June 2014

If in retaliation to your divorce proceedings, she is reliably believed to contemplate criminal complaints against you under the said provisions of law, you may send in your application to the concerned police station or the superintendent of police mentioning that you anticipate your wife trying to implicate you in false cases hence to protect you in such an event against initiating any legal action against you without proper inquiry.  This will protect you as a shield for the time being, subsequent to which you can obtain anticipatory bail and then challenge her false cases in the court properly.
