498a trial regarding query

Respected experts,

Please clarify whether in 498a trial, cross-examination of husband and other members of his family, who are roped in, also takes place like wife and her family members?

Please calrify how wife is examined by cross, i.e. whether she is examined by the PP or by husband's counsel and at what stage?

Like in Divorce (civil case) case, evidence is supplied in the form of an affidavit.  Whether in 498a, is she (wife) required to supply an affidavit for her cross?

Please guide me.

Thanks and regards

First accused's advocate will take the examination-in-chief and then PP will cross examination(Prosecutiion and defence role changes).Accused are examined by the Magistrate u/s 313 crpc. Then argument is given by the PP followed by the accused advocate.Lastly THE ORDER,-acquital/sentencing.
