Accident case

Hello, I had meet with an accident in 2014, where the 10 year old kid ran to the road. I controlled the vehicle but his leg & my hand also fractured. Later I took him to hospital & spent 56k for victim& asked there parents to spend rest will claim it through insurance. But they filed a case of 279, 338 on me, still the case is running. Main witness is not arrived from there end, my lawyer said there might be a chance of imprisonment for this section. So I am fighting for the case, lawyer said he will file 313 statement & finish the case but it is taking more time. I am working in a corporate company where I have to travel to aboard for a long term & my visa is also on process(eu country). Before travel I want to finish this case & come out of this. Situation is so worst that if I did not travel due to this, then my company will sack me from the job. Please suggest me on this, Meantime, I have one more question can I submit document to court telling that I am traveling to aboard, this case can take a date of 2 years then will come & attend.
