Adverse possession

Interesting question to all expert advocates.Respected sir,can adverse possession be claimed by two persons for the same period (for example 1961-1974) on the same land.can both these persons give a common written statement that we (both of us) have acquired title by adverse possession?

Are they the plaintiff and the defendent or both of them the defendents? The plaintiff cannot being a suit a suit based on adverse possession. But defendant can plead adverse possession in defence.
