Advise please

hi,

i filed for divorce and was asked to attend mediation in july. me and my husband went but mediators were not there , so it got postponed to aug1- my spouse was present and i could not attend as i was not able to. and it got postponed.

how many times mediation can be postponed?

what happens if i dont attend mediation at all? will the case will move to court or will it get dismissed?

no dissmiss if either of the party fails to attend mediation. There will be some stipulated time to give mediation report to the court by the mediation officer.

on the next given date attend the meditation and give your consent for compromise or convince the mediation officer that your allegation are true , if you will not attend the meditation then the mediation officer will send back your file to the court after giving his remarks that you have not cooperate him .

'Mediation' is the first mandatory step prescribed under Family Courts Act; the divorce petition cannot be dismissed due to delay in such Mediation efforts,mainly meant to strive hard at the very start of the proceedings before the Family Court. No need to panic on this account! Unless, the Mediation Report is submitted to the Court, further proceedings will not be commenced.
