Alimony or maintenace

Hi Experts,

I know maintenance has to be paid by husband while during divorce process and after the divorce is granted.

Does any court has awarded a lum sum money as alimony instead of maintenance or it is just husband's wish to get rid of wife by paying alimony.

In mcd cases the husband and wife decided the alimony in their mou, and husband paid that accordingly in the court on their mcd proceedings .

some times either party will propose for the alimony and if other party agree then court also will order the same

After divorce decree is granted, if the wife files application for permanent alimony u/s. 25 of the Act, in most cases it would be lumpsum.
