Attending dv case

My DV case was transfered to my wife's city of residence.

I checked few times from local court about the case status but it was not yet officially transfered (papers were not transfered). I had to relocate to another location in the mean time so my address changed. A friend of mine who lives in the city (where my wife resides & where the case has been transfered), told me that now this case has come up. I have no official intimation and i wonder how will i get officially informed about the next hearing. What should i do? should i just wait & watch (its more than 4 months now & few dates have passed out with me not present in court). Is there a possibility of an ex parte judgement ?

Better will be if  you engage a good lawyer from your locality,

absence on date of the opponent and his lawyer may cause you to lose case,

if you have not engaged a lawyer, then just go to the court and ask the clerk / court officer about your file status and stage of proceeding.

you can not take action against what you don't know.

first verify if you have received in your old address. otherwise go to your wife's place of court and find out. anyway you know the case number.
