Dowry menace: Bride turns up at groom''s house

Ballia (UP), Feb 19 (PTI) A girl along with her family today besieged her fiance''s house after he did not turn up for the marriage in Bansdeeh area, police said.

Munni''s marriage was fixed with Devendra Varma yesterday, but the groom and his family did not turn up as they claimed more dowry, the bride''s family claimed.

After waiting for the groom in vain, Munni along with hundreds of people reached Devendra''s house and demanded an explanation, police said.

The youth sensing trouble managed to escape from the spot.

A date for marriage was later fixed after police and a former state minister mediated between the two parties.

IT WAS GOOD DEVELOPMENT.BUT FORCEFUL MARRIAGE MAY CREATE PROBLEMS IN FUTURE LIFE OF THE BRIDE.HENCE SHE SHOULD REJECT THE SAID PERSON AND LOOK FOR BETTER OFFER.AND FILE THE COMPLAINT AGAINST THE SAID PERSON FOR ILLEGAL DEMANDS. OF COURSE THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS THE CONCERNED SHOULD TAKE PROPER DECISION. GOOD LUCK.

Yes

It's foolish to get married to such men,even after God showed their true colurs.

But girls' side believe so much has already been spent on this marriage.It'll all go waste and again more money will be required to arrange the next marriage.

Main culprit here is the system of putting all marriage burden on girls' side.

If it was not there,the girl would have dumped this boy and got married to another man.
