By mistake some amount is posted to a strangerers dormant account through netbank

 

sir,

inadvertantly i had posted 45k to a strangers domant account through net banking.

though stanger is identified,  she is not responding to resolve the issue.

kindly educate me , what action i can take to solve the issue.

1. File a written complaint to your bank immediately with all necessary details and request them to coordinate with receiving bank to get refund from them.

2 Also file a police complaint, in case the money may have withdrawn from account. Police can mediate to resolve the issue.

The police will not be of any use to you in this regard.

You can try through bank alone, since the recipient's account is dormant and she has to approach bank to activate the account without which she may not be able to withdraw the amount, the bank if want to help you may put pressure on her before permitting her to activate her account.

Branch manager of the receipant's account holder may be contacted to reverse the entry in your account.

I think RBI issued guielines and provided a tool free number for such mistaken transactions.
