Buying Agricultural land

Dear Panel Members,

My father was a farmer, sold his properties more than 50 years ago and have no documents to establish the same.

Am currently engaged in business and have been filing my IT for the past 15 years, which is on an average approximately Rs. 6 lacs/annum.

I possess an agricultural  coolie certificate  & I intend to buy approximately 10 acres of agricultural land near Madhugiri, Karnataka, for agricultural purpose only.

My question to the panel members are

1. Can I buy the land legally?

2. Does my income pose any problem? If yes, how to mitigate the same?

3. Is there any authorised body to clear my case, due to the income limit? If so, who are they and what documents needed to be obtained and submitted?

Regards

Vikram

Mr. Thrivikrama ! LCI members are here to help only genuine cases.  First of all how did you obtain agricultural coolie certificate and under what status you are paying income tax, Sole proprietor?
