Can a contract employee work for more than 5 years permanent

SIR,

I AM WORKING AS CONTRACT EMPLOYEE IN GOVERNTMENT DEPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS, CAN I BE MADE PERMANENT

Unless the Government makes a policy decision to regularlize a category of contract employees, a contract employee will not be entitled to permanency by merely being in the contract employee for a long period.

The judgements are both for and against.  However Government has taken advantage of Hon. Supreme Court Decision, as per which, this kind of permanancy is back door entry and hence, unlelss government takes a policy decision, it is not possible/obliged.  Regards.
