He rejected it and threatened me to terminate and i have to pay training charges.

can they terminate me for this reason?

Read your agreement of service nicely. Chances are- you wont find anything there too. No company will usually allow selection of job suitable to your choice or skills. So they can fire you. They will however not mention reason of termination as "rejection of project" unless the agreement says but something else. As regards payment of training charges you need not pay if you were not informed about this beforehand. See what experts say in this.

The service agreement needs to be examined verbatim.

What was the ground for creating the service agreement?

Was any extra ordinary favor given, some certified course of training provided that would add to qualification?

Was drafted and signed just to feel obliged since employment is provided? If yes it may get termed as unconscionable/void.

Get into the habit of recording threats (audio/visual/witnessed/minuted) etc.

Now there are many employee's unions in your sector too that have affiliated with trade unions.

United employees can form 'Works Committe' that is an authority as per ID Act, IC's etc......

Do you job advt and  Did you mention in job application that you are applying for......................?

if you are being appointed in some dept/div that you do not want resolve amicable by applying your skills.
