can Hindus purchase muslims owned land

Hi sir,
we are planning to buy a agricultural land in Karnataka. land is now owned by Muslim person. is there any restriction or special permission needed to buy this land.

Hello,

There’s nothing illegal here. You can buy a person’s land irrespective of what religion he practices provided you abide by the legal compliances with respect to purchasing and owning land and so you don’t need any kind of special permission.

The seller should have a good title through a registered sale deed and his name should be in revenue records.  In case of doubts, let the sale deed be drafted by a solicitor and he can take all precautions.   If you wish to go for a loan in a bank, then obtain such a draft from that banker's retainer.
