Can i give a potential buyer a copy of my sale deed?

Ok.. I think this should not be a problem but being a first time seller I wanted to be on the safe side. I bought a house few years ago on a bank loan. All the original documents (sale & link deeds) are in the bank as collateral. I have a set of copies for these documents. I live overseas.

I am selling this house now and have a potential buyer who is very keen. He wants copies of the original sale deed and the link documents which I am ok to provide. Are there any potentail ramifications if I do this? I mean can the potential buyer create any kind of issues with copies of registration docs if his intentions are not noble? It may sound like I am being overly cautious bordering on unreasonable. But looking at some dodgy people around and hearing horror stories of some crafty people claiming others property as their own leading to long drawn court cases has me on the edge.

Can anyone please advise? Many thanks.

Since the property is mortgaged, you have to seek concurrance of the Bank also whom you have availed loan... Out of the sale proceeds, you have to discharge the debt of the bank, to seek the title deeds back from the bank. As regards yr query, I do'nt think there would be any problem... The buyer has the right to inspect/see the papers and also have copies to verify the authenticity from concerned authroties, before purchase... keep yrself in place of buyer and think... nothing can be created out of copies particulalry when the property is mortgaged and originals are lying with bank...
