Can i take third party cheque as rent for the shop leased

Hi All, I have rented a shop to a pharmacy (Medical Shop) ( Company Runs Chain of Pharmacy Outlets- Lets Say : Company A ) thru a Rental Agreement Deed. That company A is paying rent thru cheque.
Around four months back due to the company internal affairs they have transferred their business to a new company ( lets say : Company B). Now Company B is still running the pharmacy shop and they are paying rent thru cheque on Company B Name however the agreement is still with Company A only.

My Query: Company B claims the business transferred to them is an internal transfer among thier sister concerned companies and they dont want to go for a fresh agreement. Can i accept the cheque from Company B though the agreement is still on Company A?

What could be the legal implications if i accept third party cheque as a rent?

Thanks
Ramakanth

Company must give an intimation letter to the owner of the property about Company B payment of rent.

Even If it is an internal matter company A could intimate in writing.
