Christian Will

Please clarify if probate is required for Christian Will made in Mumbai.

As per section 213, Hindu Succession Act, will is required to be probated by Hindus, Jainas, Sikhs, or Buddhists if such will is of the classes specified u/s 57. However, 213 clearly specifies: "This section shall not apply in the case of Wills made by Muhammadans or Indian Christians." So, for instance, only Hindus etc would need to have their will probated in Mumbai.
