Citizenship question in rti

Whther the PIO or the appealate authority ask for the proof of citizenship for providing replies?

Sir, Only a citizen of India is entitled to seek information under RTI, hence the CPIO/SPIO &/or the Appellate authorities can ask for proof of Indian citizenship. Good luck, Kishor Mehta

As per CIC decision, PIO should not demand for such proof of citizenship.
