Dear Querist,

An offence under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code is compoundable with the permission of the court. Section 506 of Indian Penal Code is a compoundable offence. Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code is non - compoundable in nature, but there is an exception when the offence of cheating is compoundable, in that case Section 120B of IPC with respect to Section 420 of IPC becomes compoundable in nature. This was stated in a case Rana v State (NCT of Delhi), 2007. Thereby in the above-mentioned scenario the connected offences can be compounded.

Thank You.
