Contested to mutual - time taken

Hello All,

Wife Filed for One-Sided divorce 6 months ago. We are agreeing for Mutual divorce.

After converting the One-Sided divorce to a Mutual Divorce , how long will it take to finalize the Mutual Divorce?

And what is the process to convert a one-sided to a mutual and different stages involved?

Thanks !

After filing mutual consent, 6 months cooling period will be given. on the end of 6th month date, you both will be called for mediation and then judgement. may take around 8 months max.

of course the cooling period depends on various other factors, based on which it can be done away with.

mention the previous contested divorce case in the mutual contest divorce petition and try to waive off the 6 months period as in supreme court there are number of cases from contested divorce to mutual divorce cases and the cooling off period was waived off but all are above one year

try to find out in INdia kannon.org website if you get 6 months judgement then file it along with the MCD petition

you will get mutual divorce order within one month
