Dehradun: Man kills wife, cuts body into pieces

Posted on Dec 13, 2010 at 21:53

Dehradun: In a shocking incident in Dehradun, a software engineer allegedly killed his wife, cut the body into pieces and hid it in a deep freezer for nearly two months.

US-returned 37-year-old software engineer, Rajesh Gulati was arrested for murdering his wife on October 17.

He allegedly cut up her body into several pieces and had begun disposing them off in the nearby forest before he was arrested.

Gulati has allegedly confessed his crime. He was arrested after his wife Anupama's brother grew suspicious after his repetitive attempts to contact her were frustrated. Gulati had told his children that their mother had left for Delhi.

Reports claim that he strangulated his wife after a quarrel on October 17. However, Gulati said that it was an accident.

All wasn't well in the Gulati household. The engineer had earlier been charged for domestic violence against his wife, and had been asked to provide her maintenance before they could formally separate. However, Anupama was tragically killed.

When there was a wear and tears in matrimonial dispute, she has missused DV Act and 498a.  It is our legal system, given opportunity to use it as wepon. I am not trying to say whatever is done is correct, he could have solved in better ways.

Saket ji, we do not know whether it was a false case of DV and so, cannot comment on that. But whatever it is, she is right in taking legal action for her miseries and her US returned software husband has taken law into his hands.

It is better rather best to be good Human Being and good Citizen first than to be educated like this.

His entire education and resource of this country, gone in vain, instead of devoting himself in nation building, he has taken law in his own hand. A murderer is a murderer and there is no excuses and justification of such an act.  It is a rarest of rare and ghastly act. The person Rajesh Gulati is not clean, as he was having extra marital affairs. He deserves capital punishment, as he is threat to humanity.

The engineer may had committed such a crime in depression.

Hi,

I know whatever he has done its not correct.

But at the same time our laws related to matrimonial disputes ( 498A, 3/4 DP ACT, DV ACT, HMA ) needs to be revisited as these are being widely misused. Lets take the case of 498A, statistics reveals that 98% of such cases are false.. inspite of this we are still having this law where just by simple complaint filed by a girl is sufficient to put the entire in-laws family behind the bars... There is no punishment for the girl if later the case is found to be false....

HMA----- Divorce is almost impossible to get under HMA.... One can find God but cabnt get divorce...

All these laws are biased towrds the girls.. If someone thinks that he can get divorce through court then it will take years....

Have we ever thought about why there are so many dowry deaths? In most cases they know that if they go legal way to get divorce then it will take yearsand that too not sure whether they willl get divorce or not.

I think its now high time for law makers to ammend these laws and make the things simpler and less time consuming like in US/UK.

The thing is that he was having extra marital affair in spite of having his own child out of the marriage. He wanted to get rid of her. he is a third grade "SHATIR" very clever cold blooded murderer, he has acted in a professional manner.

Those who blaming and holding matrimonial laws responsible for this type of ghastly act are Pure Mentally Sick.

Do they (who r holding matrimonial laws responsible) like her to be away from his life throwing the children in dustbin, so that he could have enjoyed with other woman.

Even their children are saying that Papa (Father) was very often beating their mother.

It has become fashion to blame matrimonial laws and misuse of it, and several criminals are taking shelter of this fashion.

Ek insaan is had tak jaa sakta hai kabhi nahi socha tha. But jahan Ruchika Kand aur Tandur Kand ho sakte hai, vahan kuchh bhi ho sakta hai.

How much disgusting.

Ek teref to hum aurat ko devi kehte hain dusri aur uske saath hone wali in ghatnao ko nazar andaaz bhi kerte hai.

Hamein yeh nahi bhoolna chahiye ki jo aaj kisi aur ki beti ke saath hua hai vo kal hamare saath ya hamari beti ke saath bhi ho sakta hai.

Isliye hamare samaaj ka neend se jagna zaruri hai aur aise drindo ko saza dilwana bhi bahut zaruri hai.

Really it was the solution for the husband?

If yes, then every husband should take such step. To kahan hai hamara sabhya smaaj?

Kahan gayi sanskriti? Kya jangal Raj bana rakha hai!

Agar aisa hi raha to vo din dur nahi jab hamara bharat fir se gulaam hoga.

Here a person who has vowed to protect her has killed her brutally. This is not an isolated events, daily so many brides are being killed some of them find place in national level media.

If these acts get support or get justified in the name of matrimonial laws then every bride will be suspicious and live in fear and phobia..

Reality is that most of the men deserved to be booked under DV act. It is the generosity of wives that they are not braising their voices due to their weaker situation/condition.
