Special Marriage Act

I have submitted form of marriage under special marriage act. From Marriage registartion office they have told me to come after one month. On that day we (me and my GF) have sign for registration. Can not we do this signature procedure in our home, means can marriage registar come to my home and do all the legal formalities?

Plz reply. Thanks in advance.

There is provision for commission. You need to file an application for commission. Thereafter the MO can visit the place for solemnisation of the marriage.

Registrar/Commissioner appointed by the Court may visit your place to verify the signatures for a fee. But this is done only in emergent cases with valid reasons.
