Review petition in sc

Q How much time does the Review Petition takes in Supreme Court for review of earlier order. .?

Q. though am aware that decision is rarely changed but still in light of genuine evidence given with petition

Is there any scope for previous order to be changed.?

Dear Ashwarya

In review petiton nobody can say about timing but if the genuine evidence given in petition then it may be possible to change the order.

Dear Querist,

After filing and getting the defects, if any, cured, the Review Petition would be registered within 3 days and theerafter, approximately after 3 weeks, it is listed for hearing by Judges-in-Chamber. Such hearing is not in open Court. However, if you are able to show that certain facts and/or documents so relevant which if considered would have changed the dimension of the scope of consideration by the Hon'ble Court before passing the Order in SLP, which was not considered. Hence, you may have extraordinary scope for your proposed petition being listed for hearing in open court. This is general opinion. For a definitive advice, you may consult a lawyer of your choice and discuss with him to put forth your points.

Trust this would suffice.

Review petitions are by circulation and review in India is a farce.
