False affidavit vs false testimony

helo to all,

i just seen a supreme court judgement where , hon. court sentenced a man for 5 years jail for submitting false affiidavit in civil case  in the court.

My query is giving false statement/testimony in court in criminal court can be equated to the above mentioned case.

Giving or fabricating false evidence in a judical proceeding is a crime u/s 193 ipc and punished for 7years imprisonment .
