voideble marriage

I am facing a very bad situation in my life.my girlfriend and me married on 7/10/18 under special marriage act.now my wife mother threatening my wife to cancel this marriage otherwise she will commit suicide.we went to lawyer he said cancellation of this marriage is possible under section 25 of special marriage act.
my query is that
1.how much time required to voidable this marriage if both agree.
2.i am government employee will I face any problem.
3.weather the judge will ask anything to us or directly cancel this marriage.
4.what step should I follow if they will marry my wife without cancellation of marriage
