Criminal

in non compoundable cases i want to compound the case what is the procedure regarding this type of cases

if there is any relavency of case please send the data or citation if any

please give quick reply if any body knows

1. Compounding a non-compoundable case is a contradiction in terms. A party cannot do that.

2. In under S. 498A, IPC, some Staes like AP have made them compoundable through amedments to CrPC.

3. Initially, Supreme Court allowed the husband and wife to compound the case of S. 498A, BUT LATER IT PREFERRED THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE OF QUASHING THE PROCEEDINGS UNDER S. 482 CrPC where the couple wanted to patch up or go for divorce by mutual consent.

It can only be quashed/ finished by witness/ complainant turning hostile.
