How do you make out the date of decree? Is it date on the 'Verified' stamp on the decree? Please respond as it is urgent. Thank you in advance!

It is always the date on which decree was passed by the court and there is time limit for it's execution..

Normally 12 years from the date of award of the decree.

Thank you for your replies. I know the 12 year period applies. The decree I have says "4.3.99 - In view of the statements and in terms of compromise application, ths suit of the plaintiff is disposed off.Suit file to be consigned to record room". Also, the stamp on the decree has a date of June 18, 1999. So which of these dates will be constituted as the date of the decree? Will appreciate your reply.....

Thank you very much!

Just a clarification does this mean that the decree is 4.3.99 and not 18.6.99????

Why are you getting confused ? The date on which the Decree / Order was passed by the court is the date for consideration. May be you might have got the certified copy after 3 months. So in your case the date is 4/3/1999.
