my son in law got a call from police station for a false complaint against him by his flat neighbour.
other building members know that complainant is doing wrong with dominating purpose in building.
Please let us know can he send/ file a defamation notice /case against that neighbour?
or any legal suggestions from respected forum members.

If your neighbour has given a complaint to the police then you have to challenge it properly and get the case dismissed, if necessary you can give a counter complaint.
No defamation case would be maintainable.
