defamation

Hello friends,

Is there any limit or dead line by which one can file the case for defamation from the date of judgement ?

1)The case i am talking about was closed in 2008 - jan., now can the accused move against the complainant for defamation,

2)are mobile phone conversations consider valid for proof ? the same are of 2008 and are in the mobile phone only ? if yes how to prove it .

limitation 1year from the date of judgment mobile conversation can be proved in accordance with the 65A of Indian Evidence Act

The time limit is as follows:

1. Criminal defamation 1 Year
2. Civil Defamation 2 Years
