My wife has applied for renewal of her passport under the Tatkal scheme on 15-04-2011. As per the passport office's website the new passport should be issued in 3 working days. Also, the officer at the passport office told her at the time of submission of application that her new passport will be issued in 10 working days. But, her passport is still not issued as of today i.e. 01-June-2011 even after one and half months. She is supposed to travel with our daughter to the UK as soon as possible but her travel plans are getting delayed due to the delay in her passport.
We have met the passport officer 3 times and she is not ready to provide any date or timeframe for issuance of her passport. She keeps on saying that it will be received in a week or so.
Can anybody please help me about what should be done next in order to get her passport issued as soon as possible.
