Dependent parent- income - for medical /lfc

For the purpose of Dependent Family Member For Parents:

 

For benefit of Mediclaim/LFC

 

Whether income from the below sources is considered:

FD is considered towards monthly income?

Dividend ?

Longterm/ short term capital gain?

Hi,

interest earned on FD's, Dividends and Capital gains- short and long term are considered as income from other sources under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and are taxable.

So, to answer your question - yes they are considered as income.

Income from all sources is the parameter for adjudging dependancy.
