Bar associations are organization of advocates working in particular courts while Bar councils work on state leval and enrolle advocates and the Bar Council is a central body.

PLEASE  CLARIFY VALIDITY OF SO CALLED  " TAX BAR ASSOCIATION" FORMED AND REGISTERED UNDER STATE SOCIETIES ACT CONSISTING ADVOCATES ALONGWITH MEMBERS OTHER THAN LAW DEGREE HOLDERS IN WEST BENGAL.?  "BAR" IS NOT DEFINED IN BAR COUNCIL REGULATIONS? THERE IS BAR ASSOCIATION DEFINED ONLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADVOCATES WELFARE SCHEME FOR ADVOCATES . DO BAR COUNCIL AFFILIATES/RECOGNISE SUCH BAR ASSOCIATION? CAN GOVT AUTHORITY RECOGNISE THEM AS BAR ASSOCIATION?
THANKING YOU
