Disown son

learned members of the club, i would like to ask a question on disowning a child. the question is :-

What is the procedure to disown a child?

Can i disown him in respect of my seperate property alone? or can i disown him in respect of the hindu joint family property as well which i inhereted from my father?

please advice.

@Author

In my view as per Hindu Law, a son has the right in his ancestral property however if it is your own property, it is your right to make a will in favor of anyone you like.

Further details and relevant sections could be enlightened by other experienced senior members at LCI

u can disown ur son from self acquired property and not from ancestral property and can make will of self acquired property only. if u acquired ancestral property via will then u can not make will again of that property but can dispose off that prorerty untill other  heirs are minor
