My marriage is scheduled on 29 th April and Reception ceremony on 1 st May. Local body election is also scheduled on 1 st May. I am a teacher at a government aided primary school. Will I get exemption from election duty? If yes what are the procedures? Thanks in advance.

Plese contact your supervising authority and file application for exemption with such proofs through his recommendation to Chief Electoral officer.  This is a simple formality and you will certainly get exemption as need is genuine.

Meet Chief Election officer personally and seek exemptions as per laid down norms There are exemptions certainly for urgent medical cases, pregnant ladies, Heart patients etc. (I am not LOYER, and answered query as there is no litigation involved in your issue)
