Electric meter on Rented place

I have taken office on rent and the owner asked me to apply  electric meter of my own . I did same . After  using  office  for almost 3 years i left that place ... i  did not disconnect electric meter  .

Now someone else  have taken our office  on rent from the landlord . But instead of applying own electric meter , he is using my electric meter and paying bills regularly .

My question is if  in future  either  landlord  or new owner of the shop steal  electricity or overuse  alloted load of  electricity . Will i have to face criminal /panel  consecunes or the person who currently owns the shop ?
