Do you have the acknowledgment of disconnection intimation, disconnection, and has the company supplied any bills?
Certainly it shall be appropriate to proceed under expert advise of an able counseld specialzing in consumer matters.

does the consumer have evidence that electricity was disconnected (acknowledged application for disconnection, intimation of disconnection). was the meter reading recorded on disconnection date? was it recorded on reconnection date? if there is no change in meter reading then consumer may be only liable for monthly fixed charges as per their policy and not for consumption. if there is a substantial change in meter reading, does the consumer suspect any electricity theft? engage an able counsel specialising in consumer matters to help you out further. |
There is a proper intimation of disconnetion from the electricity department although there was no display on meter. There was no meter reading while disconnection, and disconnection was done due to non payment of bills.Further a connection charge of Rs. 300/- was levied again on restoration of connection and a new meter was installed on payment of Rs800/- all the payments are done after a proper issue of receipt from the departrnment. It is now that they are charging the cost of units consumed on an average units consumed basis for the units consumed during the disconnection period. Kindly advice me the proper course of action.

if the meter keeps moving despite disconnection then he has to pay. He is rather liable for FIR as the vaguely described facts indicate. |
