Forgery committed by landlords poa holder

Sir,

As a Junior Lawyer i am asking this query.

Facts of the case are as follows

My Client is a tenant of a bldg in Mumbai. The Landlord stays at London since the last 40 years, and he has appointed a person to look after the administration of the bldg to collect rents, paying salary to other staff  etc. He has been given a power of attorney by landlord to the person. Now in case of my client who is the younger brother, the room is in the name of his mother. Now paying bribes the elder brother has put up his name instead of the mother. Now my client approached me stating that they want to get the rent receipt changed back to original name. I advised them they should take a search report from the collector office and show that the name changed is illegally done so that we can pressurise the poa holder to change the rent receipt into original name.

Is there any other way to resolve this, pls guide.

Regards,
