Formaities / procedures to obtain death certificate after one year of the death

Dear Experts, Pranam! One of my uncles (in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu) died two years back and unfortunately his children (three sons, two daughters) not registered the death at the local RO and so the DC has not been issued or avaiable with us. We understand that it should be done within 3 months after death otherwise wont be able to get the same. No what is the legal formalities to be taken care for obtaining the Death Certificate now? Please be clarified/advised. Thanks kvg

you can file application befre the municipal magistrate

File an application in local municipal office for death certificate.

First of all, take steps to register the death.

But that is the issue, since it is too long, how could we register now?

What I understand is, we cant register at Local bodies (Municipality / Panchayath) or they cant record it just as an info since it is too long!
