Fresh passport

Hi My brother got married 2 yrs back. His wife is applying for fresh passport (1st time ever; she never had one before) at Mumbai. Her surname has changed now to our family Name. She has got Adhar card, ration card, pan card in our family name. Now we are applying for passport in our family name. The nikah certificate is in Urdu. do we actually need to submit the nikah certificate? If yes, will it be accepted by passport service? Please guide

Dear Mohsin,

Based on the Nikah certificate, obtain an affidavit in the prescribed format which you can find it in passport application itself, get it notarised and submit along with the passport application.
