Gap between two services

Sirs and Madams,

I would highly appreciate if you can enlighten me on this:

I submitted technical resignation to my previous employer and joined my present employer. There is a one day gap in service because I was travelling. Now my present employer is saying there is 'break in service' of one day and therefore my previous service cannot be counted.

I feel that I have been wronged. Can you help me please?

Ask your present employer to give the same in writing on your written representation, that matter can be taken up with the labor department for necessary relief.

has the establishment section read joining time rules.

Break in service?

have they seen FR17A. whether anyone has declared you as proved guilty of unauthroised and wilful absence,

If joining time is not admissible then you can apply leave for the journey period.

the concept of technical resignation applies in Govt to Govt jobs.  So my above reply is based on presuming that you are Govt employee.
