Court can ask google to prove authenticity.IP Address can be tempered with easily,if poilce /court ask google or any other search engine/social media they are bound to check and reply.Poor knowledge of IT laws amongest courts/police.Recent Geetika suicide case main evidence are based only on chats/emails.

Thanks for reply. How long google store logging information ( IP address / history etc ) ? I heard somewhere it will be for 18 months and later they will delete permanently.

and how this is going to help in civil cases like loss of reputation and damages claim?

will phographs or screenshots of gtalk or say the entire screen work as evidence?
