House

Government sent me a letter which states that they are going to break my house to make road wider...this is my native house in maharashtra...they didn't say anything about compensation in that letter...how can i request them for a compensation? should i hire a lawyer?

First, visit to the village and speak to concerned officials about the issue, learn the purpose of such acquiring, and other neighbors that are equally affected and stand in the same position as you, inquire about their stand and process they are adopting, go collectively and fight for good compensation.  Once there is group, they can engage an advocate who is more competent, honest, and have expertise by sharing the expenses, and local persons may help you in updating the status of the case.
