i4RD the India-Israel Initiative for Industrial Research and Development is a government bilateral framework providing active support for collaborative R&D ventures between Indian and Israeli companies, jointly implemented in India by GITA - Global Innovation and Technology Alliance, an autonomous, not-for-profit organisation, established by the Department of Science & Technology of the Ministry of Science & Technology in India (DST), in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the implementation of its International S&T Programmes and MATIMOP, - The Industry Center for R&D, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor.
Initial focus: biotechnology, nanotechnology, space science and technology, water management and non conventional energy sources (particularly solar).
