Is action on Mr. Madhavan Nair justified?

Government has barred Mr. Madhavan Nair, former Chairman of space commission, and some other former scientists of the Space Department from holding any Government posts or assignments. In 2011 many VVIP’s including company executives were sent to Tihar Jail charged under various scams. There was virtual celebration by the general public when the VVIP’s were sent to jail one by one. In contrast there is an avalanche of protests for the action taken against the former space scientists. Does this amount to double standard?

Mr. Madhavan Nair has said that his successor Mr. Radhakrishnan is inept and the Space Department is doomed under his chairmanship. If Madhavan Nair is right, how did Radhakrishnan get selected to the top post?  Why did Madhavan Nair keep silent about Radhakrishnan so far? What about the other scientists in ISRO?
