Junior Bachchan not allowed in VIP lounge
Few days back, TOI published a story on Little bachchan not being allowed in the VIP lounge of Lucknow Airport. The extracts of news item are ......While waiting for their flight to Mumbai, Abhishek and his crew, along with co-actor Neil Nitin Mukesh were escorted to the VIP lounge on their arrival at the airport by the CISF personnel. But just when they were made comfortable there, they were asked to vacate the lounge.....The airport duty manager ....questioned stars' presence there, as the VIP lounge is meant for only a special category of people, which incidently does not include film stars.......Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan on hearing the commotion came out and specified that he had been escorted to the VIP lounge by the airport security. And then he shifted to the arrival lounge of the airport along with Neil Nitin Mukesh and their team.
While we must laud the concerned airport officers for showing rule book to a celebrity. But we should also ponder that how many times in past, the concerned airport officers had enforced this provision. If it is being enforced first time, than motive has to be seen. I could not find any guidelines on internet given by Lucknow Airport giving definition of VIP. In this episode, Bachchan emerged a winner showcasing his decency for authortites and rule book, otherwise his entourage could have easily asked to show the rule book which they have taken as base for his exit from VIP lounge.
