Dear Experts:
This query is regarding a barren paddy land owned by us in Kerala. The land is not being actively cultivated for over a decade. The surrounding area is becoming residential.
- If fields are not suitable for cultivation, can they be converted for alterntive use?
- Read from here, https://www.murickens.com/realestate/KERALAREALESTATENEWS.asp Kerala High Court on Tuesday 31 jan 2012 held that barren paddy fields which are not suitable for cultivation should be converted for alternative use.
A. Is there a threat in Kerala that an agri property can be confiscated by government at any time - if it is not cultivated?
B. Are there procedural steps that can be followed to show that the property can no longer be cultivated?
Kindly clarify
thanks for your time - ravi
